Work in the United States?

I am a legal permanent resident of the United States. I was born in Colombia and came to the USA when I was 5. I will be turning 17 next month and would love to begin to work. My Social Security Card says I can only work with the valid authorization of immigration. Has anybody gone through this process before and can tell me what to expect and what are the steps??? And how much are the fees and about how long is the waiting process until approved??

Why did my ghost shrimp eat my snail?

I feed my ghost shrimp a couple tiny pebbles of goldfish food each day. Yesterday, I seen the snail moving around in the bowl as usual. This morning I looked in the bowl and I seen the empty snail shell, and my ghost shrimp's stomache is now black. (It's usually tan like the goldfish food). His insides are black, and the snail is black, so I'm pretty sure she ate it. This totally freaked me out! Maybe I'm not feeding her enough? I've had them together for a few months and they never hurt each other. What do you suggest I do? Is it okay for her to be alone like this? She has now ate her only companion, haha!

Do you know this poem?

The last line of the poem is "your name and your name and your name." I cannot remember the title or author's name. The poem is about a man who goes out fishing (I believe) and is narrated by a loved one, presumably his wife but that isn't explicit. He leaves to do something outdoors, and I think I remember it being around a pond. You get the sense it is late autumn/early winter, and when the man doesn't come back the narrator and someone else go out looking for him. This is where I recall it being around a pond, and I think there is a dog with the narrator. The last line describes how it is getting bleak outside, the narrator cannot find the man, presumably some accident has occurred, and they are calling for him, saying something like "making the only sound as we call your name, and your name, and your name."

How can people believe in a certain god and an afterlife when all the evidence is against them?

All the logical, rational and reasonable evidence is against religion yet there are people who are blinded by faith? Why haven't they got one molecule of logic in their body? What makes them follow their god so closely? How can they believe in an afterlife? More importantly, how can people still believe in creationism?! It's scary what ignorance can do to people. Cows in my yard... again?

So this is the 3rd time this week (it's only Wednesday, for cryin out loud) and I've walked my neighbor's darn cows back to his field twice. Now they're in my neighbor's yard, in mine, and they won't go away now. Neighbor's aren't home. Farmer man doesn't have a telephone and he's too creepy to go to his house alone as a female. His cows have been roaming all over for at least 2 weeks. Is there anyone I can call to come out here and get these cows taken away? It's 4 calves (old enough to call cows, but still very young) I've tried chasing them, (getting a funny mental image?) scaring them, walking them with a lead, so on. It's making me so mad, they're tramping the gardens, ripping up the yard because it rained yesterday, and driving the dogs insane. I'd shoot them if I could then move them afterwards... so not an option to have 4 dead cows in my yard. Any ideas of who to call? Thanks in advance.

My son is sick, and I don't know what to do....?

he has not been sick since he was 3...he is 8 now. I'm serious. He suffered from chronic bronchitis and ear infections when he was younger until he had his tonsils and adenoids taken out. Since then he has woke up a few times with a stuffy nose but was fine by mid day. This morning he had a completely runny nose with a cough that just sounded like it hurt real bad. I gave him some cold medicine we had and let him take it real easy all day long. I made him his favorite dinner and he barely touched it, and wanted to take a bath at 7:30 tonight. I gave him some more meds before bed at 8:15 and I've been checking on him every 20 minutes. He rarely complains of not feeling well or being in pain so today I'm just at a loss for what to do. His fever is at 99.5, he has a dry cough, and a stuffy nose. The meds I'm giving him are for all of those symptoms. I'm keeping him away from dairy and making sure he's covered and warm. I didn't think of it until just a few minutes ago but, is the H1N1 still going around? Is he showing some of the symptoms? I just feel like I'm not doing something I should be.

Just started training at Starbucks...can anybody who's gone through this help me out a bit?

I worked at starbucks for three years I enjoyed it a lot. If you have questions over your book work don't hesitate to ask (just make sure they are not busy making a drink or with a customer) Im sure they would be happy to ist you. It is a little overwhelming at first its a lot of information to take in especially when you start learning to make the drinks. The book makes it seem more complicated than it actually is tho. Once you start the hands on training it will seem like you will never be able to remember all the information but I promise you will. Most people that work at starbucks have a pretty good attitude towards helping teach new people the ropes so I wouldn't be too worried about 'pestering them'. You will need to wear your apron when making the drinks but not when you read the book. Its a great job don't get overwhelmed just stick it out and you will probably love working there like I did. Chipped plaster in pool?

There are several rough spots on the bottom of my pool. I ume that this means the plaster has chipped off. Because some of these spots are at the deep end of the pool, I would have to drain the whole thing to repair them, and draining the whole pool is a very expensive proposition. Do I need to fix these spots? Will it cause permanant damange if I leave it as is? FYI- I'm not losing any pool water.

I recently bought a newer, off-brand heat pump system from a guy that had it in storage and never hooked it up. It was such a good deal I couldn't turn it down. This is something that I've always been curious of. You look at any form of media between the west and Japan, the men look like men in America and the men look very feminine in Japan. Baby Mollies-- please help!!?

I went away to Europe for 2 weeks, and when I came back I found one little brown fish hiding in the s. I have 3 GloFish, 2 catfish, and 2 Mollies. The one Molly we know is a male, and the pet store told us they weren't sure about the other one. It appears to be female. We've kept Mollies for over 6 months now, and although we've seen them mate, no babies have appeared. Now I've moved the one little fry into a smaller tank, using water from the big one, and put a couple of pebbles and a plant in it. Ok so I don't even know if I should be posting this but here goes. About eight months I went to a neighboring state to help out my friends, sister in law and be a nanny to her kids. Well she would leave on family trips and I would stay and watch her house. Well on October 31st she went down to see her family in my town and I stayed behind. I stayed because my aunt was coming in on a flight, and would be driving back that night. This lady I nannied for wanted some christmas stocking and a levi quilt embroidered on (my aunt runs an embroidery business) so the plan was my aunt would come get me and we were going to take back her stuff and embroider on it. We did it that way because she didn't want her kids to see their gifts and she didn't have room. Well my aunt came and went inside the house and used the bathroom. I kinda showed her the house, then we loaded up the stuff and left. Well the lady didn't leave me a key and so I had to leave through the back door and through the gate, but I didn't lock the gate because I had no key. Well we went home and they stayed until nov 2 and came home. Well in this time they had gotten robbed. They had a laptop taken, karaoke machines, jewelry and cameras and tvs. The robber apparently broke in through the dog door and ransacked the house and then smashed the pumpkins on the kitchen floor on the way out. So anyways the police came took their statements and basically told them it was probably your nanny because houses don't get robbed twice. (Oh ya three years ago they got robbed, and the guy took all their nice jewlery, and she told me this so all their jewlery was junk jewlery and not worth anything. And also to add their house didn't have an alarm system). So the cops keep calling me and asking me questions over the phone, and the first few times it didn't bother me, but now its starting to get annoying. I mean I showed my aunt the house before we left and everything was just fine. No smashed pumpkins no ransaked house or anything. I'm irrated because if I had taken all this stuff where would I have put it? I only had my luggage and christmas stocking and you can't hide anything there and besides my aunt took everything home with her so if I had taken it wouldn't she have seen it? So what do I do? My aunt is a respectable bussiness woman that wouldn't lie for me and were not the kind that's into petty theft. So do the cops still think its us? Would they try and frame us for this? And if they contunie should I get a lawyer?

Legal to drive damaged car?

I live in the UK and my car was involved in an accident and as a result the drivers side front and rear doors were damaged. The doors are still operable and work okay. However with the drivers door you have to pull/push a little harder to open it as it sticks a little now due to the damage. Is it still legal to drive. The doors stay shut and are working as normal but I am a bit wary of being stopped by police who may notice the damage and then take action. The rear door closes fully but is bent alittle meaning their is a light gap. Where it meets the frame (but it does still securley close).

Did anyone have pregnancy symptoms during the 2ww?

Im a little over half way through the dreadful 2 week wait, and unlike with my last pregnancy, I havent really had any symptoms yet. With my son, I knew I was pregnant before I got the official BFP, because of the very sore , tiredness, and nausea. This time I really havent noticed anything other than some very painful cramping that lasted 3 days, at 3-4-5 dpo. But nothing since. Also, has anyone had completely different pregnancy experiences/symptoms in the beginning of two different pregnancies? I always do my research on professors before I sign up for their cles. Students hear from other students which professors are great. Those professors' cles fill up quickly. Many students want to drop out but they can't and are stuck with the lousy teacher. What are some good crook pot recipes using stew beef but not stew?

Ever had pepper steak? Brown the stew beef in a pan with a little oil, salt and pepper. Once that's done, use 2 packets of Liptons beefy onion soup mix, put beef and soup mix in crock pot and cover with water. Cook for 4 hrs in crock pot. Add sliced green pepper. Cook for 1 hr. Pour ingredients into pot. In a measuring cup or mixing bowl add 1 cup of cool water and 1/4 cup cornstarch. Mix well. Slowly stir into beef mixture to thicken. Stir continuously. Let boil for 1 to 1 1/2 min. Let stand and thicken for a few minutes. Serve over rice

Running percentage in excel?

Ok so I found a site that had running percentage totals for a budget but I am looking for something a little different and having difficulity making the formula work.
